We gather personal information This privacy policy is designed to tell you about the types of information that we may collect relating to our adult and children users (including “Personally Identifiable Information”, PII, as defined under applicable law). It also tells you how, when, and why our company will use the information, and the situations when we may share personal information.
From Student Users, we collect only the personal information that is reasonably necessary to run the site. While the collection of certain information is reasonably necessary for the delivery of our educational services, we will not collect or disclose more personal information than is reasonably necessary to provide our educational services. Student User participation in our programs is not conditional on collection of any more information than is reasonably necessary to accomplish our educational purposes. We do not create or keep student profiles for non-educational purposes. Federal law (COPPA) requires our compliance with this provision. For more information, see our COPPA Notice.
We will seek your consent In general, we will seek consent whenever any PII is sought with respect to you or your child. In some cases, a school may act in loco parentis to provide consent for Student Users under the age of 13. In these cases, we assume that the school has provided notice to parents and obtained their consent. You can learn more about this in our COPPA Notice. We will notify you and seek your consent again if we materially change: The kinds of information we collect, How we use that information, and/or If we offer the information to new or different third parties.
You have the right to review your personal information You have the right to review your personal information and personal information collected from and/or about your child. You can do this: through your account by contacting a Student User`s teacher, who has full oversight of the personal information submitted by the student in their class, or by emailing [email protected] (once we verify your identity, we will be grant you access to review, update, and/or delete their data)
We are careful when contracting with Third Parties We only contract and share student data with third parties that are consistent with our own policies. If we ever contract with a future company we will make sure they are consistent with our policies, otherwise, we will seek your consent again before sharing User information.
We only keep data for as long as we need it for educational purposes We do not retain personal information for longer than necessary to deliver educational services or for school purposes. If you would like your data deleted before this point, you can delete your account. Once an account is deleted we take all available measures to remove and/or de-identify all personal information.
We strive to protect the confidentiality, security, and integrity of personal information We will take reasonable care to safeguard the confidentiality, security, and integrity of personal information. For example, we store information on password-secure servers, we limit the disclosure of relevant passwords to essential personnel only, and we use encryption measures. We have a robust data breach response plan in place in the unlikely incidence where user data is compromised.
We do not advertise to students We do not collect behavioral information from Users to provide targeted advertising and we do not advertise to Student Users.
We have a data breach plan in place If we become aware of a security incident, we will inform you in a timely manner. We will take all necessary measures to remedy or mitigate the effects of the incident and will keep you informed of all developments in connection with the incident.

We at Human Restoration Project (“Floop”, “we”, “us”, “our”, “Company”, “Human Restoration Project”, “HRP”) take your privacy seriously. By accessing or using the Service (including without limitation the mobile version of the floopedu.com (the “Mobile Site”) and the Floop mobile application(s) available via the Apple App Store or Android App Store, you acknowledge that you accept the practices and policies outlined in this Privacy Policy. Remember that your use of Floop’s Services is at all times subject to the Terms of Use, which incorporates this Privacy Policy. About the information that we collect

What is Personally Identifiable Information? This refers to information that lets us know the specifics of who you are. We consider Personally Identifiable Information, PII, to be:

  • Full Name (first and last together)
  • Online contact (like an email, IM identifier, VoIP identifier, or video chat identifier, screen name, username)
  • Home address
  • Phone number
  • Social Security number
  • Persistent identifier (like a cookie number, an IP address, a processor or device serial number, or a unique device identifier)
  • Your image or voice (like a photo, video, audio)
  • Geolocation (to level of street, city, town)

What Personally Identifiable Information do we collect and why?

When you visit the site or download our app from an app store, you may be providing us with persistent identifiers in the form of an IP address or unique device identifier. Your IP address can be used to determine your geolocation to the level of your city or town. We only use this information to improve our educational services. You may be able to prevent this information from being shared by changing the settings on your device. We respect this and you will still be able to use the site without experiencing changes in the quality of service. If you decide to register for this site we ask you to provide us with:

  • Your Full Name
  • Your online contact in the form of an email address

If you submit work to the site during an educational activity, you may provide us with your image in the form of a photograph or other PII included in the work. You can prevent us from collecting this information by checking your work before submitting it. Teacher Users should remind Student Users of the importance of checking their work before submitting it.

Information from Integrated Services like Google or Clever

If you decide to register through or otherwise grant access to a third-party integrated service (what we call an “Integrated Service”), such as Google, Floop may also collect PII. You may also have the option of sharing additional information with us through an Integrated Service. If you choose to provide such information, during registration or otherwise, you are giving Floop the permission to use, share, and store it in a manner consistent with this Privacy Policy.

Information about your use of our site and other User-provided Information

We may collect usage information about your use of certain features on our site, such as the length of work sample and comment submissions, the feedback scores students have received, and the academic concepts present in the assignments teachers create. This enables us to better tailor educational experiences that are most appropriate for you and your students and we do not use it for any purposes outside of the operation of this service.

Information obtained from other Users

We make available certain features on our site that allow other Users to provide us information about you. This information may include PII. Generally, this occurs when parents or teachers provide information relating to a Student User. For example, a parent may register an account for their child and provide us with certain information, such as the child’s first and last name. It may also happen if a Student User submits a work sample or feedback containing information about another student. If you are a Teacher User, and you use our referral service to tell another teacher about our Services, we will ask you for that teacher’s name and email address. We use and protect this information in a manner consistent with this Privacy Policy.

Information from Other Sources

In certain situations, we may obtain information, including PII, from third parties or sources other than our site. For example, if you apply for a job with Human Restoration Project via an online recruiting site, we will obtain the information you provide in your application for that purpose. If we combine or associate information from other sources with PII that we collect through our site, we will treat the combined information as PII in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

Advertising

We do not collect behavioral information from Users to provide targeted advertising and we do not advertise to Student Users.

When we share information and when we do not

We do not sell, trade, or rent PII to others.

On occasion, we may provide some of our services through contractual arrangements with affiliates, services providers, partners and other third parties. For example, we must release your credit card information to the card-issuing bank to confirm payment for products and services purchased on this site. We only share data with third parties that are consistent with our policies. We will only contract with future companies that are consistent with our policies, otherwise we will seek your consent again before sharing User information.

Occasionally we may be required by law enforcement or judicial authorities to provide PII to the appropriate governmental authorities. We will disclose PII upon receipt of a court order, subpoena, or to cooperate with a law enforcement investigation.We fully cooperate with law enforcement agencies in identifying those who use our services for illegal activities. We reserve the right to report to law enforcement agencies any activities that we in good faith believe to be unlawful.

Keeping information correct and up-to-date

We believe you should have the ability to access and edit the PII that you have provided to us. You may change any of your PII in your account online at any time by linking to your account in accordance with instructions posted elsewhere on this site. Please include your name, address, and/or email address when you contact us. We encourage you to promptly update your PII if it changes.

Your choices regarding your information

At any time, you have the choice to delete your account. Once an account is deleted, we take all available measures to remove and/or de-identify all personal information. From time to time, we may send emails to Teacher Users regarding our products and services. Web beacons may also be used in some of our emails to let us know which emails (and which links within those emails) have been opened by recipients. This allows us to gauge the effectiveness of our customer communications. We will always offer the opportunity to opt-out of these mailings. You can opt out by clicking the “unsubscribe” link in the email. You also have choices with respect to cookies, as described below. By modifying your browser preferences, you have the choice to accept all cookies, to be notified when a cookie is set, or to reject all cookies. If you choose to reject all cookies some parts of our site may not work properly in your case. If you use the Mobile Application, we will send push notifications to your mobile device in order to make you aware of certain activities that may occur within your account, such as when someone has entered a new post, when you have new notifications, or when grades have been posted. You may opt-out of receiving these types of communications by turning them off at the device level or emailing us at [email protected].

Keeping your information secure

We take reasonable efforts to assure that your PII is secure and consistent with current industry standards. You may access your PII through a password and unique username that you select. This password is encrypted. We recommend that you do not divulge your password to anyone. In addition, your PII resides on a secure server that only selected Floop personnel and contractors have access to via password. We encrypt your PII in an effort to prevent unauthorized parties from viewing such information when it is transmitted to us. Personal information that you provide that is not PII also resides on a secure server, and is only accessible via password. Since this information is not accessible from outside Floop you will not be asked to select a password in order to view or modify such information. In order to most efficiently serve you, credit card transactions and order fulfillment may be handled by established third party banking, processing agents and distribution institutions. They receive the information needed to verify and authorize your credit card or other payment information and to process and ship your order. Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet or any wireless network can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. As a result, while we strive to protect your PII, you acknowledge that: there are security and privacy limitations of the Internet that are beyond our control; the security, integrity and privacy of any and all information and data exchanged between you and us through this site cannot be guaranteed; and any such information and data may be viewed or tampered with in transit by a third party.

Upon becoming aware of a Security Incident, Floop shall inform and shall provide all such timely information. Floop shall further take all such measures and actions as are necessary to remedy or informed of all developments in connection with the Security mitigate the effects of the Security Incident and shall keep Users informed of all developments in connection with the Security Incident.

Cookies

When you use our site, we will store cookies on your computer in order to facilitate and customize your use of our site. A cookie is a small data text file, which a website stores on your computer’s hard drive (if your Web browser permits) that can later be retrieved to identify you to us. Our cookies store randomly assigned user identification numbers, the country where you are located, and your first name to welcome you back to our site. The cookies make your use of the site easier, make the site run more smoothly and help us to maintain a secure site. You are always free to decline our cookies if your browser permits. Our cookies do not collect PII, and we do not combine the general information collected through cookies with other PII to tell us who you are or what your username or email address is.

We comply with all federal regulations

We are committed to working with our Users to comply with laws, rules, and regulations governing the use and protection of Student Records, including Children Online Privacy Protection (COPPA) and the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and their implementing regulations, applicable state laws, and statutes governing Student Records we receive from Users. As such, Floop is committed to protecting the security, confidentiality, and integrity of Student Records that we receive from Users, as well as to protect against unauthorized access or anticipated threats. Please see our COPPA Notice for additional information regarding compliance with federal regulations.

Users outside of the USA

When you use the Services, you are consenting to have your data transferred to and processed in the United States. Please understand that Floop is subject to the investigatory and enforcement powers of the Federal Trade Commission of the United States. All of Floop’s servers are currently in the United States, and we aren’t able to process your information within the borders of any other country. Given this limitation, if your use of the Services or disclosure of certain information to Floop would violate any law that is applicable to you, your right to use the Services and/or disclose such information is revoked, as it is wherever use of the Services is prohibited by law (as described in the Terms of Use).

Acknowledgements

You acknowledge that:

  • this Privacy Policy is part of our Site Terms of Use, and by accessing or using our site, you agree to be bound by all of its terms and conditions.
  • if you do not agree to these terms, you will not access or use this site.
  • we reserve the right to change this Privacy Policy at any time. If we materially change the type of PII we collect, who we share it with, or how we use it, we will notify you by email, post a notice on our site and, if necessitated by this Policy, re-obtain your consent. We will notify you with two (2) weeks prior notice before the change becomes effective. Users are bound by any changes to the Privacy Policy when he or she uses the Services upon the conclusion of such two (2) week notice period.
  • it is your responsibility to maintain a valid email address as a registered user, review this site and this Policy periodically and to be aware of any modifications.
  • your continued use of the site after such modifications and notifications will constitute your acknowledgment of the modified Policy; and agreement to abide and be bound by the modified Policy.
